PURPOSE: To control a controlled system baed on the operation and power of each part of the body detected by a myoelectric signal.
CONSTITUTION: The signal detection part 1 and the signal amplifying part 2 composing a wrist watch type myoelectric signal detector 6 detects a myoelectric signal and amplifies the signal. Based on this amplified myoelectric signal (b), an operation detection part 3 detects the operations of the fingers and a power detection part 4 detects the power grasping the hands. A control part 5 controls a controlled system in accordance with the recognized instruction based on the detected operations of the fingers and the grasping power of a hand. Thus, by detecting the operation of a certain part of a body and the tension of the muscle in other part (for instance, the operations of the fingers and the grasping power of the hands), a complicated instruction is assigned to the combination of the operations of the fingers and the power grasping the hands and the controlled system can be easily controlled by the only gesture of the hands without depending on a keyboard by even a user who does not know a keyboard operation well.
