PURPOSE: To reduce a shock caused by the reset of an air conditioner from its cut-off state at the accelerating time by providing a load operation reset means for detecting the start of torque down operation performed by a torque down control means so as to reset the load into operated state synchronously with the torque down start.

CONSTITUTION: When a vehicle is in the accelerated state due to sudden start or the like, the load operation of an air conditioner or the like affecting the output torque of an engine 1 is stopped to secure accelerating force. At the speed change time of an automatic transmission performed in association with this acceleration, the output torque of the engine 1 is lowered by a torque down control means 8 so as to reduce a speed change shock. Load operation reset is also performed by a load operation reset means synchronously with the start of torque down operation, which results in reducing a shock caused by the reset of the air conditioner.
