To prevent the occurrence of an opening/closing trouble of a door body due to misdetection of detection means rising and falling in accordance with rising and falling of the door body.
An opening/closing controller includes: a door body which electrically rises and falls to open and close an opening; upper limit position detecting means for the door body; detection means for setting a horizontal detection area in a forward space of the opening and detecting an object located in the detection area; and a control part for controlling electrical rising and falling of the door body on the basis of the detection of the upper limit position detecting means and the detection/non-detection of the detection means. The detection means is located at the height in the vicinity of the lower end of the door body, and is movable detection means which rises and falls in accordance with the rising and falling of the door body. The detection area rises and falls in accordance with the rising and falling of the detection means. The upper limit position detecting means detects a first position, which is an upper limit position of the door body, and a second position in the vicinity of the upper limit position of the door body and located lower than the first position. The control part invalidates the detection of the detection means while the door body is located higher than the second position.
