Abstract:
A home controller (20) transmits to each household appliance a reduction direction (DRß) based on a reduction direction (DRa) for reducing power consumption within a household from a power system. The home controller (20) determines whether the power consumption has been reduced as denoted in the reduction direction (DRa) based on the household power consumption before and after transmitting the reduction direction (DRß). If the power consumption has not been reduced based on the reduction direction (DRa), the home controller (20) updates the reduction direction (DRß) to a reduction direction which requests a greater power consumption reduction than the reduction direction (DRß) which was previously transmitted. The home controller (20) transmits the updated reduction direction (DRß) to each household appliance. The home controller (20) repeats acquiring the power consumption, determining whether the power consumption is reduced, updating the reduction direction (DRß), and transmitting the updated reduction direction (DRß), until the power consumption is reduced based on the reduction direction (DRa).
