To provide a controlling apparatus for a sulfonation reactor effective for achieving sure sulfonation reaction and enabling easy control of the reaction.
Sulfur 20a is delivered from a sulfur tank 20 with a metering pump 21 at a constant delivery rate. Sulfur trioxide gas is generated by a sulfur burner 22 and a processing part 23 receiving the sulfur 20a at a constant rate. The flow rates of raw materials 10a, 11a delivered from raw material tanks 10, 11 for reacting with sulfur trioxide gas are controlled by valves 14, 15 by the commands transmitted from a controlling apparatus 30. The valves 24, 25 controlled by the controlling apparatus 30 select whether the sulfur trioxide is supplied to the sulfonation reactor 16 or not. The sulfonation reactor 16 is charged with sulfur trioxide gas and one or more raw materials 10a, 11a to perform the sulfonation reaction.
