To improve operating rates of an automated guided vehicle and decrease the required number of automated guided vehicles.
A controlling device which automatically runs the automated guided vehicle comprises a storing method, a running schedule detecting method S1, a running order deciding methods S2 and S3, and a shortest route generating method S4. The storing method stores route composition data which includes area priorities, orders in the area, destinations, and duration between destinations. The running schedule detecting method S1 retrieves a running schedule from an upper server. The running order deciding methods S2 and S3 decide an order of running services to destinations according to the running schedule, and area priorities and orders in the area of destinations included in the root composition data. The shortest route generating method S4 generates the shortest route after deciding a route with the shortest duration among routes available for reaching next destinations, by adding each duration from a destination to the next connected route point according to the order of the decided running priorities. The controlling device runs the automated guided vehicle by sending the generated data of the shortest duration route to the automated guided vehicle S10.
