PURPOSE: To prevent a rolling mill from damages resulting from a camber of Al rolling sheet in hot rolling of Al sheet, by controlling a coated layer of Al oxides stuck to the surface of mill roll uniformly by brushing rolls.
CONSTITUTION: A Al rolling material 4 is roughly hot-rolled into a sheet of given thickness by work rolls 2 eqiupped with back-up rolls 1, by giving the necessary number of times of reversible rollings. Brushing rolls 6, 7 being interlocked with the rolls 2 are arranged at the front or rear side of the rolls 2 and are driven at a fixed speed relative to that of the rolls 2 so as to remove the coating layer of Al oxide stuck to the surfaces of the rolls 2. When the camber of the Al rolling sheet is generated by the difference between the thicknesses of coating layers stuck to the upper and lower rolls 2, either of the rolls 6, 7 which is placed at the side generating camber is made faster in its rotating speed to make the thickness of coated layer uniform and the camber of Al rolling material is eliminated, thus preventing the damages of surrounding machineries of the mill-roll stand caused by the camber of the Al rolling material 4.
