Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure good drivability by preventing the opening of a throttle valve from being unduly reflected to slight shake of a target inlet air quantity by performing a super-lean burn on the basis of a comparison result between the target inlet air quantity and the threshold value, or controlling the target inlet air quantity so as to be clamped.
SOLUTION: In controlling an engine by an engine control unit 1, first of all, on the basis of each detection signal out of a crank angle sensor 3 and an accelerator sensor 9, a target inlet air quantity at a theoretical air-fuel ratio is operated. Next, a target equivalent ratio is operated from accelerator opening and engine speed, while the target inlet air quantity is divided by the target equivalent ratio, thereby operating a second target inlet air quantity, and when the operated value is larger than the threshold value, the threshold value is substituted for a third target inlet air quantity. Subsequently, a target overall opening area of an electronically controlled throttle valve 6 is operated from the third inlet air quantity and the engine speed, then the target throttle valve opening is operated from this target overall opening area, driving a throttle valve opening controlling motor 6a.
