To deal with any cooking, including rice cooking, by providing a food heating chamber, a fan for supplying heated air into the heating box, and a rice cooking function.
A rice cooker 2 comprises a substantially rectangular prism cooker body 21, and a cover member 23 closing the opening of the cooker body 21. A fluororesin layer is formed on the inner surface of the body 21 so that rice does not adhere thereto and the body 21 can be cleaned easily. Specified quantity of rice 26 and water is placed in the body 21, the cover member 23 is fixed to close the opening of the body 21 and a temperature sensor 25 is inserted into the sensor hole 24 of the cover member 23. When the race cooker 2 is set in a heating chamber under that state and a rice cooking key on an operating panel is depressed, temperature in the chamber is controlled through a control means, e.g. a microcomputer. When the temperature sensor 25 is connected with the control means, temperature/heating time can be set automatically while taking account of seasonal difference of water temperature and rice can be cooked using an ordinary hotel pan.
