Title:
'KANA'/'KANJI' CONVERSION CONTROL DEVICE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0736879
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To smoothly move an operator's visual point by setting up a cursor position indicating an input position always to a position next to a finally inputted 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary) character even when automatic 'KANA'/'KANJI' (Chinese character) conversion is executed.

CONSTITUTION: A space part corresponding to a difference between a converted character string and an unconverted character string is displayed before the converted character string. Whether an inputted 'KANA' character string is converted or not is checked, and if M digits from the head of the 'KANA' character string are converted into a character string consisting of N digits by the execution of conversion, whether the converted character string N is shorter than the unconverted character string M or not is checked. When the converted character string is shorter (M>N), a difference (M-N) in the number of digits between the unconverted character string and the converted character string is calculated and a space part corresponding to the difference is displayed from the starting position of 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion. Then the N digits of the converted character string are stored in a converted character string storing part 6 and the contents of the storing part 6 are displayed on a screen.
