Abstract:
To provide a conversion system which converts an input signal into an analog signal from a digital signal in an extended dynamic range.
This system includes a DAC system and a mode selector. The mode selector selects an operation mode of a digital/analog conversion system from a plurality of modes. The mode selector selects a mode according to a characteristic of an input signal. Each mode is related to an instantaneous dynamic range of the DAC system and a quantization noise level. A mode group realizes an improvement of entire or effective dynamic range as compared with a single DAC part within the DAC system.
