Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saved converter for pitcher's mound at a lower cost with a simple mechanism in a type which is installed in a field of a stadium allowing the holding of baseball and other events.
SOLUTION: This converter is constituted of a cylindrical pit 10 formed on a pitcher's mound, a lid 20 which is rotatably supported on bearings 25 and 26 of a pit side rim part by horizontal support shafts 21 and 22 along a center line L1 with a shaft almost matching the shape of an opening 11 of the pit 10, a pitcher's mound 30 formed on one side of the lid 20, a rotary driver 40 disposed under the ground surface of the field for rotation of the lid 20 through the support shafts 21 and 22 and a lock means to lock the lid 20 in a state where the pitcher's mound 30 is set upward while the surface of the lid 20 itself upward. Thus, the lid 20 is converted between the position of the pitcher's mound 30 upward and the position of the lid 20 itself upward.
