To provide a D/A converter which applies band-limiting on its analog output to obtain desired frequency characteristics, irrespective of process variations.
The D/A converter is a filter for converting a multi-bit digital input to an analog output, corresponding to its digital codes, having frequency characteristics defined by a predetermined transfer function. The filter comprises shift registers for delaying bits of the digital input one after another and a switched capacitor circuit, having a plurality of parallel-connected capacitors for charging corresponding reference voltages, based on the digital codes of shifted bits of the digital input by the shift registers. The reference voltages are weighted for the bits of the digital input and coefficients of the transfer function are expressed by the capacitance ratios of the capacitors.
