PURPOSE: To refer to attribute information accumulated in a words and phrases information holding part and to attain KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion into appropriate words and phrases, which fit to attribute information at the time of correcting a sentence by providing the words and phrases information holding part holding information showing the position of deleted words and phrases and attributes such as the parts of speech and sematic/origin of the words and phrases.

CONSTITUTION: A KANA/KANJI dictionary part A which previously stores attribute informa tion showing the attribute including the part of speech and sematic/origin of respective words and phrases with KANJI information, the words and phrases information holding part B extracting and holding attribute information of the words and phrases apart from position information showing the position of the words and phrases which are deleted by the deletion instruction of the words and phrases in a document by referring the KANA/KANJI dictionary part A and a KANA/KANJI conversion part C which refers to attribute information accumulat ed in the words and phrases holding part B in accordance with the insertion instruction of the words and phrases and which executes conversion into the words and phrases fitting to information by using the KANA/KANJI dictionary part A are given. Thus, KANA/KANJI conversion is attained into the appropriate words and phrases fitting to attribute information by referring to attribute information accumulated in the words and phrases information holding part at the time of correcting the sentence.
