Abstract:
To provide a conveyance device and a conveyance method capable of performing efficient and high-speed continuous conveyance even when there is a remarkable difference generated between the carrying-in speed and the carrying-out speed of the conveyance device that serves as a relay among respective steps within a distribution center as a result of enlarged fluctuation in an object moving amount through a supply chain.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: This conveyance device has: a conveyance function capable of independently moving conveyed objects arrayed in at least two rows or more; a transfer function capable of freely changing the directions of the objects; buffering functions provided on the upstream and downstream sides of the device having the transfer function; and an information processing control function for executing the transfer function with respect to the downstream side of the device having the conveyance function on the basis of information about an object present in a region having the buffering function. The conveyance method can control the conveyance device to an optimal conveyance speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
