This conveying apparatus conveys the conveying container 1 for storing an article, the upper part of which is provided with a transverse hook 1c to the conveying direction to be conveyed in the suspended state, and the apparatus includes a chain 7 for moving a catch 8 on which the hook 1c is held along a rail 5 regulating the conveying path of the conveying container 1. A fall preventing member 10 having a bar member 10-1 on which the hook 1c is held is installed in an area right under the moving path of the catch 8 along it.
