A pair of adjacent pallets 2a, 2b are engaged and connected in a conveying direction through a connection part 10. A space between the pallets 2a, 2b is changed by the conveying speed difference of the pallets 2a, 2b by releasing the engaging state of the connection part 10 in a position where the upstream pallet 2a is disposed in a low speed conveying area C1 and the downstream pallet 2b is disposed in a high speed conveying area C2. The conveying pitch of the pallets 2a, 2b is then changed by engaging an engaging member 11 of the connection part 10 in an engaging position (an engaging groove 12b) different from an engaging position (an engaging groove 12a) before released.
