The conveying article transfer device is provided with the conveying article holding mechanism 31 detachably holding a conveying article, and a supporting body 34 for suspending and supporting the conveying article holding mechanism 31 through a rope-like body, and the conveying article holding mechanism 31 and the target body are relatively elevated so that the conveying article holding mechanism 31 is positioned in the transfer position with respect to the target body of conveying article transfer. The conveying article transfer device is further provided with an abutting part 54a disposed on the conveying article holding mechanism 31 so that the abutting part 54a is abutted to the target body and slack is generated at the rope body accompanied by that the conveying article holding mechanism 31 is positioned in the transfer position with respect to the target body, and a slack detection means 90 for detecting the slack of the rope-like body.
