To allow conveying apparatus to perform quick conveying operation by giving the conveying command data from one control device to the next control device in synchronization with transfer of the loaded object.

A conveying system is equipped as conveying apparatus with a stacker crane to convey objects in an automated warehouse, crawler dollies, and an object receiving conveyor or a storing/discharging conveyor. The crane, dollies, and conveyors are controlled by a crane control device 22, dolly control device 23, and conveyor control device 24, respectively. The control devices 22-24 are connected through the same communication circuit T with an inventory managing computer 21 which prepares the data for instructing the conveying operation (conveying command data). Accordingly the conveying command data emitted from the computer 21 is fed through the communication circuit T from one control device to another, and each control apparatus performs the conveying operation in conformity to the given conveying command data.
