To provide a low-cost conveying device that can easily be miniaturized, has excellent conveying capability and durability, eliminates the need for a secondary process or the like such as attaching with an adhesive or welding, thus allowing easy, secure assembly without involving a laborious task, and to provide an image forming apparatus having the conveying device.

The conveying device includes a deformable coil-like conveying member 1 for rotating and conveying a body (T) to be conveyed, and a rotary drive shaft 2 for rotating the coil-like conveying member 1. The rotary drive shaft 2 has a joining section 2a having an outer diameter (a) greater than the inside diameter (b) of the coil-like inside diameter section 1a of the coil-like conveying member 1. The joining section 2a is force-fitted into the internal diameter section 1a of the conveying member 1 and thus joined to it.
