To provide a wire material conveying mechanism capable of conveying a Ni-based metallic wire having rigidity lower than that of a ferrous wire material without trouble of buckling and clogging.
In this conveying device, a Ni-based metallic wire material W is pushed out and conveyed to the downstream side of a conveying path PL by a feeding drive roller 3 while being unwound from a coil C. A conveying guide part for restraining the lateral movement of the wire material W is provided on the intermediate part of the conveying path PL, the non-restraining section is set to L=150×(D/16.7)2 (unit: mm) so as not to be continuously generated in the section longer than L. Therefore, since the Ni-based metallic wire material W having low rigidity is not easily buckled during conveyance, the wire material is prevented from being clogged, and the wire material is smoothly and stably conveyed.
