A storage chamber for storing a big slug lump is disposed in the rear part of a casing, a plurality of plate-like rails that extend diagonally upward from the bottom of the storage chamber and are arranged in parallel at regular intervals are disposed between a molten slag outfall and a scraper conveyer, and the shortest distance W between adjacent facing surfaces of the plate-like rails and the shortest distance P between adjacent facing surfaces of the scrapers have a relation of W<P. Thus, the big slug lump is caught, and is made to skid by its own weight in the storage chamber direction along the plate-like rails, and is stored in the storage chamber.
