To provide a method, for conveying a lamellar wood while controlling its position, which places a lamellar wood on a lamellar wood piling device, while regulating the position of the lamellar wood in a feed direction and a direction crossing the feed direction respectively, and a device using this method.

A lamellar wood gripping member which grips the rear part of a veneer, is installed on a runner capable of proceeding/receding in the lamellar wood feed direction within a lamellar wood receiving region. Further, an optional one side part of the veneer is regulated by gripping the rear part of the veneer using the lamellar wood gripping member and controlling the movement of the lamellar wood gripping member in a direction crossing the conveyance direction without allowing the upper/lower surfaces of the veneer to come into contact with any other member excepting the veneer rear part gripping position. Consequently, the veneer is conveyed over some distance to the lamellar wood piling device, i.e. by a specified distance, at right angle with a direction crossing the veneer feed direction and at the same time, while the optional one side part is regulated. Thus the veneer is successively piled in a position almost coinciding with the edge part of the veneer to be laminated after its position is regulated.
