To provide a cooking device which makes it possible to easily work on ingredients while cooking.
The cooking device comprises a rectangular base 3 where the ingredients are arranged, a rectangular support member 5 erected on one side of the base 3, a rectangular elevating and lowering member 7 which covers the upper part of the base 3 and is vertically movably supported by the support member 5, a carbon heater lamp 15 attached to the elevating and lowering member 7 for emitting infrared rays to the base side, and a position control mechanism for holding the elevating and lowering member 7 at an optional position in a vertical direction. A cooking space between the base 3 and the elevating and lowering member 7 is opened to the outside on the other side facing the support member 5 and both sides of it.
