Title:
COOLANT DISCHARGE TOWER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2748088
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To inhibit a rise in construction cost and an increase in a construction site as well by losing drop energy gradually whenever overflowing coolant over a weir from a back pressure chamber drops to energy dissipation shelf boards one after another.
CONSTITUTION: A weir 11A is installed next to a back pressure chamber 10A. A plurality of energy dissipation shelf boards from 15A to 15F are installed side by side along the vertical direction in such a fashion that coolant overflowing over in the lower area of the weir 11A is adapted to drop one by another where the coolant overflowing over the weir 11A drops to the energy dissipation shelf board 15A and further drops to the shelf boards 15B to 15D. During the drop the coolant will lose its drop energy gradually by repeating collision whenever the coolant drops. Then, the coolant is adapted to pass through a pit 13 and discharged to the sea passing through a disposal plant by way of piping. This construction makes it possible to inhibit a rise in cost which is related with the construction of a coolant discharge tower which reduces the energy of the coolant or an increase in a construction site as much as possible.
