PURPOSE: To stably feed a coolant to a cutting position by providing a coolant passage for conducting the coolant from a feed source to a cutting tool supporting means, and providing a coolant passage connected to the above passage to jet and feed the coolant toward the cutting position, in the cutting tool supporting means.

CONSTITUTION: A z-axis slide 107 is slidably provided on a slide base 106 in the z-axis direction, an x-axis slide 110 is slidably provided on the z-axis slide 107 in the z-axis direction, and a tool rest 109 equipped with a cutting tool ill is fixed on the x-axis slide 110. A coolant is allowed to flow from a distribution passage 214 into a coolant passage 105 formed in the x-axis slide 110, and for example, the coolant is allowed to flow in a coolant passage 114 joined through a sealing means 108 such as a packing. Then, a coolant feed pipe 112 is connected to and loaded into the coolant passage 114, and thus the coolant is jetted-fed to a cutting position through these passages.
