To further ensure filtration of foreign matters mixed into a coolant while simplifying a configuration of a coolant filtering device.
A coolant filtering device includes foreign matter removal means 26 installed in a horizontal piping portion 22 itself constituting circulation system piping 12 of a coolant. A separator 24 of the foreign matter removal means 26 blocks cross section of the pipe line from a lower end of a pipe inner wall to a predetermined height so that foreign matters mixed into the coolant W flowing or filled in the horizontal piping portion are passively taken in to the separator 24 by using a flow of the coolant or gravitation applied to the foreign matters. The foreign matters that have been taken in to the separator 24 once are discharged from the horizontal piping portion 22 for recovery so as to filter the coolant. The coolant flowing to the further downstream side of the circulation system piping 12 through the horizontal piping portion 22 and resupplied to a grinding point or a measurement point 10a of a grinder 10 becomes a state where the foreign matters have been removed.
