PURPOSE: To obtain a cooler adequate for a stirring vessel for polymn. reaction in particular by using pipes in which water can pass to constitute baffles of the stirring vessel which has a jacket on the outside periphery of the vessel body and is provided with the baffles in the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The jacket 2 having partition plates 5 is provided to the outside periphery of the stirring vessel body 1 and the baffles 6 are disposed at plural points along the inside wall. The baffles 6 are constituted of double pipe materials and are constructed of the main parts consisting of an outside cylinder 7 and inside cylinder 8. Cooling water enters the inside of the baffles from an inlet nozzle 9 in the lower part, rises by passing the space between the outside cylinder 7 and the inside cylinder 8, descends by passing the inside of the inside cylinder 8 and is discharged from an outlet nozzle 10 in the lower part. Since the cooling water can be passed to the baffles provided in the stirring vessel in the above-mentioned manner, the reaction rate is made higher than the reaction rate of the conventional installation without providing cooling coils to the stirring vessel.
