Title:
COOLING AND DEFROSTING SYSTEM BY CARBON DIOXIDE REFRIGERANT, AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013124812
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a cooling and defrosting system by a carbon dioxide refrigerant and a method of operating the same, capable of continuously defrosting a load-side cooler until defrosting is completed, while simplifying the system and reducing its cost.

In a cooling and defrosting system 10, a defrost circuit 16 has a defrosting heat exchanger 40 for heating a carbon dioxide refrigerant by a heat medium from a high temperature heat source, a defrost going path 42 for distributing a carbon dioxide hot gas from the defrosting heat exchanger 40 to a load-side cooler 12, and a defrost returning path 44 for distributing liquefied carbon dioxide directly to the defrosting heat exchanger 40 from the load-side cooler 12, to configure a closed circuit independent of a carbon dioxide refrigerant circuit 14. The defrost circuit 16 can continuously defrost the load-side cooler 12 until the defrosting of the load-side cooler 12 is completed, by using the liquefied carbon dioxide remaining in the load-side cooler 12 after completion of a cooling mode.
