Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device made of a superconductive material for a floating body and capable of shortening the cooling time period of the floating body of the superconductive material.SOLUTION: A cooling device comprises: a superconducting bulk body (a member to be cooled) 14 disposed at the end part of a shank (shaft) 13 or at the rotation center of a flywheel (or a rotor) 12 made rotatable while floating; a cooling source 2A made at a spacing from the superconducting bulk body 14 and made movable; and a drive mechanism 3A for bringing the cooling source 2A into and out of contact with a superconducting bulk body 14. The drive mechanism 3A has a super conducting coil 15 disposed below the superconducting bulk body 14 for generating a magnetic force in a direction to move the superconducting bulk body 14 and the cooling source A from each other.
