Abstract:
To prevent an increase in temperature of belts caused by heat of a recording material to prevent toner and wax on the recording material from easily attaching to the belts.SOLUTION: A first belt 21 cooled by a heat sink has a flat surface 21a that guides a recording material S conveyed from a belt conveying device 70 to a cooling nip T4 on the upstream side of the cooling nip T4. The belt conveying device 70 is arranged such that an angle θ2 formed by the flat surface 21a and a virtual surface F parallel to a guidance direction guiding the recording material S becomes an acute angle, and guides the recording material so as to hit the leading end of the recording material S against the flat surface 21a. The recording material S is brought into contact with the flat surface 21a over a predetermined range Y on the upstream side from an upstream end T4a of the cooling nip T4, and the recording material S is guided into the cooling nip T4 while being cooled. This starts cooling of the recording material S before the entry into the cooling nip T4, which prevents an increase in temperature of a second belt 25 caused by heat of the recording material S, and prevents a toner and wax on the recording material S from easily attaching to the second belt 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
