Abstract:

To provide a cooling device for a large glass substrate capable of rapidly lowering the temperature of the substrate surface in a condition as uniform as possible regardless of the material of the substrate and capable of preventing a defect of the substrate such as distortions, cracks, chips or the like.

This cooling device 1 is used for cooling a large glass substrate 2 having a predetermined pattern printed, and heated and dried. The device is provided with: a cooling chamber 3; a fan 4 for delivering cooling air to the cooling chamber 3; a straightening member 5 for straightening the cooling air; a transporting means for transporting a large glass substrate 2 into the cooling chamber 3 and for taking it from there; a rocking means for relatively rocking the large glass substrate 2 with respect to the jetted cooling air. Preferably, the cooling device controls the rocking means for relatively rocking the large glass substrate 2 with respect to the jetted cooling air by sensing the position of the large glass substrate with a sensor, and it is also preferable for the device to control it in terms of time with a timer.
