Abstract:
To provide a cooling device for a rotary electric machine capable of suppressing oil leakage or cooling performance reduction by reducing air bubbles generated in a cooling oil.SOLUTION: A cooling device for a rotary electric machine is configured to cool a heat generating part inside of a motor M by circulating a cooling oil inside of the motor M. In the cooling device for the rotary electric machine, a housing oil passage 23 forming a part of a circulation oil passage 20 in which the cooling oil is circulated is provided in a motor housing 30. The housing oil passage 23 includes a vapor-liquid separation part 61b including: an inner cylinder part 71 as a cylindrical part that is formed in a cylindrical shape; spiral oil passages 61 and 61 each of which is a channel for the cooling oil and formed spirally along an outer periphery of the inner cylinder part 71; and a vapor-liquid separation/communication passage 74 communicating an air passage 73 which is formed inside of the inner cylinder part 71 as a hollow part, with the spiral oil passage 61.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
