Abstract:
To provide a realizable and effective method for collecting a liquefied coolant in a superconducting cable when discharging and raising a temperature of the liquefied coolant from the superconducting cable.SOLUTION: A cooling device for a superconducting cable comprises: a reservoir tank for storing a coolant in a liquefied state; a freezer capable of freezing the coolant to a sub-cool temperature; a coolant feeding line for feeding the coolant from the reservoir tank to the superconducting cable; a first coolant return line for partially returning the coolant that is cooled to the sub-cool temperature by the freezer, to the reservoir tank; a second coolant return line for returning the coolant after cooling the superconducting cable to the reservoir tank; and sn evaporated coolant supply part capable of supplying an evaporated coolant to the other end of the superconducting cable to which the second coolant return line is not connected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
