To provide a simple cooling device capable of providing cooling effect by avoiding sunshine and high heat in a field under burning sun.

This device comprises a water absorbing body capable of absorbing and vaporizing liquid and a container allowing the liquid to be put therein. A cloth-like body such as a cloth or a net as the water absorbing body in which warps are crossed with wefts is cut so that the warps are passed through in the vertical direction and the upper part thereof is narrowed and sewn or disposed so that, in a flat surface direction, the warps at the center part of the cloth-like body can be formed in a generally radial shape to form the water absorbing body. The liquid in the container is absorbed to the end part of the warps at the upper part thereof as a water absorbing port, the liquid in the container is evaporated from the water absorbing body on the outside of the container installed as the cover of a cooled material, and cooling effect is produced by releasing the heat of vaporization.
