Title:
COOLING DEVICE OF V-ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59224444
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the heating of intake air, the decrease of its charging efficiency and the decrease of an output, by independently forming two cooling water passages before and behind an intake manifold of a V-engine and connecting one of the passages to a radiator with the other to a heater.

CONSTITUTION: The cooling device of a V-engine 1 has water chambers 7, 8 independently before and behind an intake manifold 5, and the water chamber communicates to a cooling water jacket (a) while cooling water, fed from a water pump 10 to a cylinder block 2 via cylinder heads 3A, 3B, is allowed to flow into said water chamber. The water chamber 7 is connected to a radiator 12, and water is circulated to the water pump 10 at a low temperature of the water while to the radiator 12 at a high temperature of the water. The water chamber 8 is connected to a heater 13 and to the water pump 10. In this way, a circulative passage of the cooling water is simplified, while heating and a temperature rise of intake air flowing in intake passages 17, 18 are suppressed, thus output is prevented from decreasing.
