Abstract:
To improve the cooling performance of EGR gas, in an internal combustion engine in which an EGR passage is provided in the inside of a cylinder head and cooling water is cooled.SOLUTION: On a cylinder head 2, a sub water jacket 6 for cooling an EGR passage 5 in a head is formed, in addition to a main water jacket 4. An outlet portion 12 of the main water jacket 4 and a heater core 20 are connected by a heater feeding pipe 21, and temperature-decreased cooling water flows into the sub water jacket 6 through the heater core 20. Therefore, the cooling performance of an EGR gas can be improved. When the water pressure of the main water jacket 4 exceeds a set value, the cooling water flows into the sub water jacket 6 through a bypass passage 24, and returns from a bypass return passage 19 to a water pump 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
