Abstract:
PURPOSE:To always properly control a delivery amount of cooling water, by providing a movable valve in a water pump and driving the water pump in proportion to an engine speed while actuating the movable valve in accordance with the amount of heat generation of an engine so as to control delivery amount of the water pump. CONSTITUTION:If an internal-combustion engine 1 is started, rotation of a crankshaft 6 is transmitted to a driving shaft 12 of a water pump 8 through gear trains 14, 13, rotating an impeller 11. When the engine is started, the point end of a bimetal made lever-shaped actuator 19 with low temperature of a cylinder wall 2a maintains a position condition in low temperature, and a control lever 16 is placed in a standby position moving in a direction opposite to the impeller. Accordingly, a movable pump 15, connected with the control lever 16, is placed in a position detached from the impeller 11, providing low pumping action despite a speed of the impeller 11. On the contrary, the movable valve 15, approaching the impeller 11 in accordance with an increase of temperature in the engine, gradually increases the pumping action.
