To provide a cooling device efficiently removing dust attached inside a cooling tower.
This cooling device for cooling an exhaust gas in a high temperature state, includes the cooling tower (3) in which the exhaust gas is introduced from an upper section, and the exhaust gas is moved downward, a nozzle (4) for injecting a liquid refrigerant used in cooling the exhaust gas, to the inside of the cooling tower, a discharge duct (7) for taking the exhaust gas cooled by the refrigerant from an opening section (7a) facing a bottom surface of the cooling tower and discharging the exhaust gas to the outside of the cooling tower, a first scraper (11) moving along the bottom surface of the cooling tower for moving the dust attached to the bottom surface toward a discharge position, and a second scraper (16) kept into contact with the opening section of the discharge duct and moving along the opening section.
