Title:
COOLING AND DISTINGUISHMENT SYSTEM FOR ELONGATED BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54107195
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To cool and/or distinguish the overheated portion of an elongated body such as a cable by arranging tubes filled with distinguishing agent beside the elongated body, the tubes being fusible when overheated.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of distinguishment tubes 1 are arranged beside an elongated body 7 such as a cable, and a sensor 8 is arranged in zigzage form on the tubes 1. When the body 7 is overheated to possibly cause a fire, the detector 5 of the sensor 8 functions and a stop valve 3 opens. A pressurized distinguishing agent is fed from a tank 4 into the tubes 1: at the same time, the portion of the tubes 1 overheated is broken by heat so as to allow the distinguishing agent and pressurized water to spout from the broken portion toward the tubes 1, to cool and/or distinguish them. A gas chamber 10 prevents pressure changes of the agnet inside the tubes 1 due to the changes in ambient temperature.
