Title:
COOLING ENERGY STORAGE MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03174486
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a cryogenic cooling energy storage material which is excellent in mechanical strength and chemical stability, is good in durability for heat shock and vibration and has less possibility to become finely divided to make the passage of the cooling medium difficult by forming particles that have a specific particle diameter distribution and contain a rare earth element.

CONSTITUTION: A cryogenic cooling energy storage material comprising particles which contain at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and Yb, and have an average crystal particle diameter of 0.5mm or below, a particle size distribution wherein the proportion of particles having a particle diameter of 0.01-3mm is 70wt.% or more of the total particles, an aspect ratio wherein the proportion of particles having the ratio of the major diameter of the minor diameter is 5 or below is 70wt.% or more of the total particles, and a surface roughness of 10μm or below based on the maximum height.
