To provide a cooling fan control device which is capable of appropriately driving a cooling fan to send air into an engine room when an accidental fire is brought to an engine, without increasing cost, and preventing various peripheral parts from being inconveniently damaged by heat from a catalyst converter.
A controller 4, as a drive control means, generates a fan drive control signal to compellingly activate the cooling fan 2, regardless of other conditions of a vehicle, when it determines, based on a detection signal Vmf from accidental fire detection means 9, that the accidental fire has occurred in the engine. In response to the fan drive control signal, the cooling fan 2 is compellingly activated, so that cooling air is surely sent into the engine room at the time of occurrence of the accidental fire in the engine.
