To provide a cooling element provided with improved properties on shape stability regarding the cooling element formed of copper or a low- fusion copper alloy as a replaceable component of the lining of an arc furnace or a blast furnace and pierced with coolant ducts 2, 3, 4.
The back face side 5 of the cooling element 1 facing the inside of an arc furnace or a blast furnace is divided in a large number of face segments 10 by grooves 8, 9, 11, 13 extended in the inside direction of the arc furnace or blast furnace.
