Title:
COOLING METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6268663
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve a cooling effect by discharging the cooling water supplied from a water jacket to an electromagnetic stirring oil from above to below through the water jacket after said water is passed through a tubular mold from below to above.

CONSTITUTION: The cooling water supplied from two intake ports 5 of the water jacket 4 is passed through the electromagnetic stirring coil 2 from above to below to thoroughly cool the inside and outside surfaces of the coil 2. The temp. of the cooling water is preliminarily limited to ≤45°C. The cooling water after, cooling the coil 2 arrives at the bottom of a casing 1 and is raised from below to above in a space 9 between the inside cylinder 8 of the casing 1 and the tubular mold 3 to cool the mold 3; thereafter, the cooling water is discharged from a cooling water intake port 6 of the water jacket 4 to the outside of the system. The electromagnetic stirring coil is thus efficiently cooled.
