To improve cooling performance and achieve further energy saving through the most efficient use of spraying under a condition requiring the same.SOLUTION: A cooling device comprises a cooling mechanism section Cm which has a heat exchange section E installed in an air blowing space Rcw with spraying nozzles 2n ... of a spraying mechanism section which sprays water Lw arranged at an upstream side of the heat exchange section E in an air blowing direction Fw. The cooling device also has: the spraying mechanism section 2 which has a control valve 2v capable of controlling water spraying volume Q to be sprayed through the spraying nozzles 2n ... with a control signal Sc applied thereto; a humidity sensor 4h which detects humidity H of external air W; and a cooling device controller 5 which executes increase-decrease control of the spraying volume Q through applying the control signal Sc, to the control valve 2v, generated on the basis of a spraying control algorism Da preliminarily set so as to decrease the spraying volume Q when the detected humidity H is high and increase the same when the detected humidity H is low.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
