Title:
COOLING METHOD FOR DISC BRAKE CALIPER FOR BICYCLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3534652
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent vaper lock due to overheat of working fluid by providing a cooling part forming a heat sink for storing cooling liquid and transmitting heat from a caliper housing on a caliper.
SOLUTION: A disc brake caliper 21 moves between a release location where a wheel 17 and a brake disc 22 are freely rotatable by a piston unit and a braking location applying braking force to the disc 22 and stopping revolution. A cooling device 20 is basically provided with a cooling part 24, a pump 25 and a radiator 26. The cooling part 24 forms a heat sink transmitting heat from the caliper 21 by being connected in a form that the cooling part 24 is fixed to the caliper 21. In the caliper 21, a housing is constituted by a thermal conductive material to connect the cooling device 20 and remove heat. In the cooling part 24 fixed to the housing, a cavity or a large-sized cooling chamber is formed and heat from the caliper 21 can be quickly removed by cooling liquid.
