PURPOSE: To perform cooling of a clutch according to a demand for a vehicle by providing a cleaning switching solenoid to perform operation to switch oil for cooling a clutch and oil for cooling an oil cooler and controlling the solenoid according to a vehicle running state.

CONSTITUTION: During running of a vehicle, a control means 102 decides whether a shift position is an N-position or a P-position. During YES decision, a cooling switch solenoid 98 located in a hydraulic control circuit 4 of a continuously variable transmission is turned ON, and oil is fed to the oil cooler 108 side. Meanwhile, during ON decision, it is decided whether or not a condition of a change gear ratio > a set change gear ratio is satisfied. When it is decided that the condition is satisfied, the solenoid 98 is turned ON in a similar manner described above, and oil is fed to the oil cooler 108 side. When it is decided that the condition is not satisfied, the solenoid 98 is turned OFF and control is made so that oil is fed to a hydraulic starting clutch 10 side. This constitution detects an oil temperature and calculates the set change gear ratio according to the oil temperature.
