Abstract:

PURPOSE: To closely stick a platelike or cylindrical work to a cooling plate and to sufficiently cool a welding and joining part of both works even when the end face of the cylindrical work has variance of parallelism due to a manufacturing error, etc.
CONSTITUTION: In the electron beam welding machine where the plane work W2 is joined to the end face of the cylindrical work W1 and the joining part is welded by irradiation of an electron beam, the cooling plate 15 is supported tiltably on an equipment frame 1. At the time of welding the joining part of the works W1 and W2, the cooling plate 15 is brought into contact with the outside of the plotelike work 2 to cool the welding and joining part of the works W1 and W2. At this time, when the end face of the cylindrical work W1 has variance of parallelism due to the manufacturing error, etc., the cooling plate 15 tilts in accordance with parallelism of the end face and the platelike work 2 is stuck closely to the cooling plate 15.
