Abstract:

To provide a cooling system for an engine, which can prevent generation of low-temperature corrosion at a low load without largely changing the cooling system, and secures sufficient cooling performance at a high load without any restriction along with a temperature control at the low load.

In the cooing system for an internal combustion engine, low-temperature side and high-temperature side temperature regulating valves 32, 33 different in preset temperature are disposed in parallel downstream of a high-temperature side fresh water circulating circuit 3 for cooling members around a cylinder 11, a selector valve 34 for switching circulating paths of the fresh water with respect to each temperature regulating valve according to generator output is disposed upstream of the temperature regulating valves. The generator output for switching the selector valve is defined to switch the circulating paths of the circulating water for the low-temperature side temperature regulating valve, at generator output lower than the generator output in which the temperature of the members cooled by the fresh water whose temperature has been regulated reaches a member allowable limit temperature. The preset temperature of the low-temperature side temperature regulating valve is set so that the temperature of the members lowered by the switch of the circulating paths becomes higher than a low-temperature corrosion generation temperature.
