Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve reliability and maintainability of a system and reduce the size of a steam generator by providing electromagnetic pumps for driving coolant in the primary system and the secondary system and eliminating the cause of mulfunction of moving components.

CONSTITUTION: A primary electromagnetic pump 27 is built in the cold leg of primary pipe 12 in an intermediate heat exchanger 11 and a secondary electromagnetic pump 31 is built in the cold leg of secondary pipe 18. The intermediate heat exchanger 11 and the primary electromagnetic pump 27 are contained in a single guard vessel 30. The heat exchanger 17 has no liquid surface. Respective electromagnetic pump 27 and 31 are placed in electromagnetic pump vessels and coolant flows in from an inlet pipe provided on the side of the vessel, passes in the electromagnetic pump and flows out of an outlet pipe 29 provided at the bottom of the vessel.
